Rates & Questions
How long have you been in the photo industry?
I’ve been photographing weddings for over 15 years! I’ve been doing photography for almost 20 years. I also have my Bachelors of Technical Science in Photography!
What gear do you use?
I use professional Canon lenses, cameras, and flashes. For editing and post work I use an iMac and a Macbook Pro with Photoshop and Lightroom.
What does an average wedding cost?
This is a super broad question because I offer so many options! All my packages are based on my clients needs, so I build individual packages for everyone! I do everything from tiny elopements to five day weddings. On average I would say my most popular 6 hour wedding package starts $1900 while some larger 8 hour weddings starting around $2600. But, depending on how far I'm driving, flying, hotel nights, and second shooters, the cost can drastically vary.
I want to book a family session? How much do they cost? What’s included?
Family sessions start at $250 and they include an hour of shooting on location for up to 8 people, roughly around 100-125 photos, a digital gallery, and up to 20 miles or a half hour of travel. I do family sessions all over the East Coast and anything outside of that travel incurs a $30/per hour of driving. Dates fill up fast, especially in fall, so call or email me to book!
Where are you located?
I'm based in the southern area of York, PA. We're about 10 minutes from the Maryland border. Typically, when I'll be in an area and have any time, I'll post it on social media so people can book and avoid travel costs!
Will you hold my wedding date?
Dates for events and weddings will only be held once I receive a signed contract and a 25% retainer. Without that, unfortunately I can’t hold any dates. All dates are on a first come, first serve basis.
We love your work but you’re so far away! Do you travel?
Yes!! Not only do I travel, but I love anything destination! I’m a traveler myself and love photographing all over the world! I’ve been all over the US, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. Please note, anything requiring significant travel requires all travel costs and fees to be paid upfront.
We need to cancel our booking, what happens?
All retainers are non-refundable, however, if you’ve prepaid the rest of your booking, I will refund you the balance. If you choose to change the date, as long as I’m available that date, I will accommodate as best as I can. You will just need to sign a new contract with the correct information.
Are you inclusive?
Of course! Whether it’s LGBT, Hindu, Sikh, Islamic, Catholic, Jewish, etc. I am your photographer! I love what makes people unique and whether it’s your culture, religion, sexual orientation, theme, or destination, I’m here to capture it!
We’ve never really booked a session and don’t really know where to start. Where would you recommend getting photos done? What should we wear!
These are probably my two most common questions! Please reach out to me! Based on your location, I can provide some location options for you to choose from! For outfits, I recommend a few options. Pastel tops with khakis and jeans work great! Everyone wearing different shades of a particular color works great too! I tend to steer clients away from anything with obvious logos or really crazy patterns.
How many weddings have you photographed?
Well over 100+ and adding more each year!
What would happen if something crazy happened? You were trampled by a herd of unicorns and you can’t make our wedding?
Unfortunately, accidents do happen and I will try to do everything in my power to make sure you’re covered. I’m part of a few different photographer emergency groups, as well as have a list of people I use as second shooters, which provides a few different options for coverage. In all my years of doing this even with flu season, sick family, and car problems, I’ve never missed an event, and knock on wood, it never happens, but if it does, I’m covered!
Are you insured?
Yes! I know many venues now require proof of liability insurance from vendors I’d be happy to provide a copy of my insurance if asked!
How long until we get our photographs? Do we have access to high resolution files?
Typically, weddings and events take about 6 weeks until you have your photos. Family or other small sessions, I say 3-4 weeks (depending on season). All photos are provided in a digital online gallery via Pixieset.com and you have the option to download high resolution photos for printing or low resolution photos for social media. You can also order from there too if you’d like some professional printing options!
I don't really understand all this copyright talk, can I print the photos? Do I have to spend more for high resolution photos? Help!
Copyright can be super confusing and for some reason people have recently been told by everyone and their uncle to ask for the photo's copyright. To put it simply, copyright means that me, as the artist and creator, owns the art and photographs I create. Copyright stays with me, the photographer, unless you want to pay a stupid amount of money to have all the rights. Definitely doable, but will be very, very, expensive! And unless you're a large ad firm, really not necessary. BUT, all my galleries come with a print release for your personal use only and this allows you to download and print your photos wherever you want (or you can order directly from your gallery's site!). Other than my most popular wedding and family sessions, I also do senior portraits, maternity, newborn, corporate, and engagement sessions. And if you’re looking for food photography, our other sister business, A-Yo Kitchen, covers all your food and lifestyle needs!
